Presented by Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria (GSOV), A G&S Christmas Carol is the Australian premiere of a playful adaptation of Dickens’ classic redemption story, A Christmas Carol, using favourite music from the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, and clever lyrics from Gayden Wren, a New York-based Arts Editor at The New York Times as well as long-time member of Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island.

Featuring popular musical gems from The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, H.M.S. Pinafore, Iolanthe, The Yeomen of the Guard, Patience, Ruddigore and more, this fully-staged show with an ensemble cast, splendid costumes and a live trio, will be presented in November and December at three venues in Melbourne and Victoria, Australia.

We are hoping that A G&S Christmas Carol can draw and delight both Dickens and G&S fans as well as entertain children and grandchildren as it features more than a hint of panto, delightful theatrical surprises from Director Ben Klein and musical excellence from MD Catherine Bates.

A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol was presented for the first time in 1994, by the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island.
