Henry Lytton and Bertha Lewis - presentation and play

                                                   'About a century since'

We bring for you  Tony Joseph's excellent play 'The Days that Were' which he specially wrote for the Society and which we premiered in 2014.  The play tells the story of events leading up to and immediately after Henry Lytton and Bertha Lewis's famous car crash in May 1931.  We are delighted that Vice-Presidents Linda Anne Hutchison and Leon Berger will reprise their roles as Lewis and Lytton.

In order to set the scene for the play, Vincent Daniels and Nick Dobson will bring us an illustrated presentation entitled 'Bertha Lewis and Henry Lytton; Monarchs of The D'Oyly Carte's Golden Age' thus setting the scene.

Tony Joseph's play is performed with permission of his widow, Joy Joseph.

Admission:                £5 members, £10 for non-members 

We strongly advise early booking for this event.  Places  can be booked via our website with members  given priority booking until 5 days beforehand when unsold tickets will be made available for non-members.  

The photo above was taken in 2014 when we first performed this play at the Society.  Following its success, the cast also performed it for Bath Affiliated Society.
