'Revive the classic memories'

Laurence Leng will give us a digital presentation about the early Savoyard, Rutland Barrington.

Laurence has digitally remodified John Cannon's vast archive of slide shows painstakingly preserving them in a digital format.  As well as being a member of the Society, Laurence serves as Membership Secretary of Sussex Affiliated Society.

Rutland Barrington (1853 – 1922) created many of the baritone roles during the original run of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas including Captain Corcoran, Grosvenor and Pooh-Bah.  In addition to performing with the D'Oyly Carte, Barrington played in a number of other musical comedies including many for George Edwardes at Daly's Theatre.
